Hey I'm doing a big school project on the evolution of kayaking, and I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am trying to learn the history of White water kayaking. I also want to focus on how boat technology has increased to allow kayakers to try new things. If anyone knows about this your help will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!:)

Watch this:

Also look for info about Canoandes expeditions in late 70's/80's
i.e. first descent on Rio Colca in 1979 (fiberglass kayaks, self made gear etc.)
and later expedition in 1983 (great book: "Running the Amazon" by Joe Kane)

Check out the new issue (spring 2008) of Kayak Session magazine. There is a great article about the AKC. It talks a lot about the innovations they brought about and is a great start for your school project. You might want to check out the AKC website as well. Good luck! :daisy:
