Kayaking in Scandinavia 17 years 3 weeks ago #20949

Going to Scandinavia this coming summer and looking for good river and lake systems to paddle. We have 3 weeks so anything that fits in that time frame would be great.

I've been looking for guidebooks but with no luck so far, if anyone knows of any for this region that too would be a massive help.

Cheers, Mark

Check out this guidebook;
"Norway - The whitewater Guide"

Written by Jens Klatt and Olaf Obsommer.
ISBN: 3-9809315-4-4

You can find it here: www.outdoorcenter.de/product_info.php?cP..._188&products_id=962
Or here: www.striestrommer.no/product_info.php?products_id=276

It's only for Norway, but you can kayak for three weeks here and don't do the same river twice.

I know there is a guidebook covering more of the rivers in Norway coming out. Hopefully before the summer.

When are you coming to Scandiavia? I might have some more tips about where to go. (waterlevels and so on...)

And if you haven't read Adrian Tregonings articles about his trip to Sweden and Norway last summer, I recommend that you do ;) You can find them here; adrian.playak.com/index.php?option=com_c...ection&id=5&Itemid=6

There is also some articles about Norway and Sweden here; www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/articles.htm
And a Norwegian guide here: www.sunnmore-padleguide.tk
And an english guide here about the rivers around Oppdal; www.oppdalkajakklubb.no/index.php?page=Guide_English

Hope you can use some of this info :)
