I'm 15 and I live near the Gauley, New River, and Greenbrier River if you've heard of those, but one of my friends started kayaking and I'd already had some experience on flat water as a solo canoist with my Boy Scout troop so I'm picking up solo white water from my friend's dad. I'm looking for a closed deck C1 between $200-$500 if anyone knows of anything.

you might all think your river area is bad, in Holland it can't be worse;)
my nearest spot is the north sea, with waves of 3 meters sometimes..
but for a nice river I have to drive into germany, france or belgium!
so don't say you haven't got good, enough whitewater :p:p
although some nice clean 3 meter waves aren't that bad...getting tired of paddling into the sea, tha's shit! by the way, I'm 16 and in the younger group of paddlers in holland, maybe you'll find some 13/14 years old kids but not to much.
can't say it's a very normal sport overhere! but going out a lot of weeks every year cause any competitions will be out of holland is good too:p

I'm 15 and at the moment I paddle upto class III rivers.
Because I'm a member of a club there are loads of juniors so I can always paddle with people my age.
