Is there any kind of spray or lotion that could help me keep my body temp? I am skinny and I get very cold when I am in the water, I have wetsuits and all that stuff but its not enough. Well my skinny friend,
wetsuits are not for kayakers, because you have to be wet to be warm. Wet suits are also not wind proof which makes you colder. You need a drytop and bibs, or a drysuit. This is more expensive than a wetsuit but you will bw warm and cozy. You can wear cozy fleece under these layers. Anyway, where are you located, If your in the US I can give suggestions on how to get it cheap.  |

Nathan,
Thanks for the help. I do have two drytops (a long sleeve and short sleeve) and underpants. I believe the brand is NPS or something like that. I still get cold, I am looking for some kind of oil because I also will be doing scuba diving, its just embarrasing when I come out of the water all blue and shaking. Right now I am in Florida (yes, I know what you're probably thinking). But yeah, if you know where I can get more layers let me know. Take care. Jake |

I am getting wet and then cold. Somedays it does not bother me that much other days my toes are numb.
lol, vaseline... I hope there's another option. I just wanted to know if there was some kind of lotion/oil that helps the body stay warmer. I looked around but apparently there is none. Thanks! |

Are your paddler Jackets drytops. Drytops have latex gaskets that do not allow any water in. Mine is almost 100% dry. Also, does yout skirt fit your boat. Is it a bungee skirt or a rand skirt. My skirt does not leak.
Drytops are the driest but cost 200+ a dry rand skirt like may mountain surf Dur-o ring costs $160. Both of these items are not cheap, but will keep you warm. Check out the discontinued jackets on IR for good deals.... www.immersionresearch.com/closeouts/results.lasso |
