Try some different boats first. Paddling creeks boats is way different to paddling play boats anyway. :hand:

yea I only paddle playboats cuz there are no serious creeks and i can run all the runs with a playboat and i can do some flatwater tricks in playboats so why go creeker

first, which boats to try.
I have a dagger nomad which I like. It is not good for over night trips because you cant put much stuff in it. I know people who took a mamba or what ever boat you were talking about to nepal to do some serious creeking and all came back smiling.

but there are tons of other brands out there, look at liquid logic, and jackson for user friendly boats, drago rossi for inovation and bliss stick, pyrhana and fluid and probably wave sport and all the other brands i´m forgetting.

The main thing is to try out a few boats and not buy a boat that some one tells you is good. You have to love your creek boat cause at the end of the day it´s you that is going to be eating shit if you cant perform in your boat... and boat designs can make or break a kayakers self esteme.

on the difference of paddeling a playboat and a creek boat, there are some obvious features. you can´t turn a creek boat by slicing your ends through the water as you might a play boat, you are not as likely to go under the breaking stuff in a hole, you won´t be vertical in every boiler or eddy line to name a few

yeah about that creeker thing. class IV river with 6" high eddy fences, big boils, and six foot whirlpools always make me think that I wish I had a creeker, so i could at least eddy out without doing a plastic boat mystery move.
