Shred Ready Standard Full-face Helmet pics 16 years 10 months ago #22146

I took some pics of the new Shred Ready Standard Full-face helmet. It is very nice, light and seems well made.

How comfortable is it? I recently got a shaggy helmet from shred ready. I like it, except that where the "HOG Lock" is attached, it pushes against the side of my head and hurts a lot. I didn't notice it until I'd been on the river for about 2hrs. I'm thinking about sanding away some of the foam there so that there's no pressure points.

Just wondering if all of the Shred Ready range have the same problem.

I once had the Full Mental Jacket. It was pretty comfy. :)

This helmet has the H.O.T. not the HOG, but everybody's head is different. I think it is comfortable, but I have thick hair and I do not have any of the foam shims added. Therefore, someone who has a hard time finding helmets for a big head might find this one too small.

I haven't tried locking down the H.O.T. lock yet, because my right hand is in a cast and I was worried I would get it stuck on my head and have to run around the neighborhood banging on doors with it on begging for help getting it off.

Oh yeah - the one thing I wish it had was a nose bar like some add to their FNA X-Stream. I'm not a creeker but I'm very capable of hitting my face with a paddle. I hope that when the SR Standard FF gets out there more some folks will figure out a way to safely add a bar and will post how they did it.
