Bicep Hell - Whats Up ? 16 years 9 months ago #22338

Your Expert opinion needed. I have a good roll, however in the last month I think I must have developed a bad habit. I'm doing something wrong because I keep straining my right bicep. (I think) I'm pulling down on the paddle in excess. I had previously pulled my groin muscle, and I think this caused me to depend on my right arm, too much. The problem with pulling the bicep, and my roll going south started at this point. (I do a basic C to C roll). Anyway....I never had this problem before. This evening I could only get in 6 poorly executed rolls in before the pain was too great to continue. I'm really down about this. I had a very dependable and relaxed combat roll prior to all this.
I know unless one actually watches another perform a roll, its very hard to analyze and critique it, thus identifying a problem. But take a stab at it anyway if you would. Have any of you strained your bicep while rolling? If so, what were you doing wrong?
Thanks

I'm not sure but it almost sounds like you are very tensed because you already had an injury in your leg muscles (probably the part you use for the hipsnap?) and now rely on on your paddle (and thus on your arms).

My best bet would be to start over and re-learn to do a proper hipsnap, relieving your arms/biceps.

Just my 2 cents,

Michiel
