Werner Rio good mid point paddle under £100 the same shaft as the Glass range just glass reinforced nylon blades, the At4 are an awesome paddle for £150. or save up the rest for a set of players from Werner they are a very nice and take alot of abuse.

for playboating, I would say something along the lines of a Werner Player/Twist would be good, but they are fairly expensive. I have a Desperado for river running, and I love it. The Ty Warp looks good, but I have no clue about the durability. the PTK looks like a good river running paddle, and it's only $55 USD. www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfid=1664&deptid=1686 . Here's the AT AT4 play: www.atpaddle.com/WhitewaterProducts/AT4Play.html .

hi there,

i can only recommend the ty warp sticks. great value for money. i'm on a warp 1 now and really like it. as far as durabilty is concerned all their ww paddles come with steeltec and reinforced joints. go have a chat with paul at wwc who distribute them in the uk.

cheers, lunde

The Werner paddles are known for their durability, and if you think you will eventually get a player, go ahead and get that. The rio and desperado are designed for river running/creeking, but a shorter paddle would probably have the same effect. Try using the Werner Paddle sizing chart: www.wernerpaddles.com/fit_guide/ .

id recommend the werner desperado....as it is, in myopinion, the best value paddle for mnoney. Its £130 atm and it is made from reinforced nylon with a carbon fibre shaft...its light and durable, which is why i like it.
