can you buy half of a paddle? 16 years 6 months ago #23354

on a recent trip to cumberland falls, a few friends and myself were totally unprepared for what was ahead of us. My roommate lost his paddle completely on pin ball and a friend of mine broke a blade on his harmony adventure paddle. I was wondering if he would have to buy a whole paddle for full price or could he get the half of the blade replaced? if someone could help me out with this information it would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot

Try to call Harmony directly at (864) 859-7518. Also, he might as well get a new paddle, so if he breaks it again, he doesn't have to get another half. If I were him, I would go ahead and get a good paddle, like a Werner Rio/Desperado, Harmony Ty Warp, or even a Lendal Paddlok emergency paddle. He might want to get the Lendal, because all of their paddles are made to be interchangeable (e.g. if you break part of the shaft, you can change it out with a shaft on any other Lendal).

well it's actually his dad's paddle. His dad uses the rec boat mostly just for local creek runs when he fishes. They're not really into big whitewater. Mostly just local creeks, fishing and fun float flatwater creeks.

have him look in to the werner tybee, since it's a high angle touring paddle so it should be a good hybrid. If he wants a low-angle paddle, have him look at the werner skagit.

Try posting on your local forum and ask does anyone have a half a paddle floating around as that sort of thing always turns up on our forum and someone generally has what your looking for.
Worth a try anyways.
