Make sure that what you are doing is legal first. I read another post here where there were a few problems regarding legal issues. You could try to make a wave like what they have at many whitewater parks, but it would be pretty expensive. Here is a link to a pic of the US National Whitewater Center without water. bp2.blogger.com/_WM6V8b-dLkM/SIeGn44aInI.../Whitwater+Park5.jpg . here is a map of what it looks like today: maps.google.com/maps?ndsp=20&um=1&hl=en&...ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=il .If you go down and left (SW), and zoom in, you can see the course.

hi there, thanks for the advice and the photos, we already have the proper permission to start building the wave, so legally we are Ok to go.

the pics are fine but I was wondering how the flow should work in orden to make a wave. The pics of the waterpark are amazing, but we do not count with a large capital or work area. we are thinking on making a playspot and nothing more, at the date, all we count with is the permission, a small amount of money and lots of stones

Thanks Adrian. That was the post I was trying to reference, but I had forgotten where it was on the site. One option could be to find some old scrap sheet metal, wedge it into the river, and use a rope tied to a tree to keep it in place. The only problem that you might encounter with rocks is that they would probably wash away, depending on the size of rocks. I can say that it is possible, because on the Congaree Swamp in I think South Carolina, the water barely has any current, but there was still one small rapid that wasn't much, but if the swamp flowed as fast as some other rivers, it could have been a class 1-3 rapid, depending on the volume of water passing through the area. What you may want to do is take the stones and put cement in between them so no water can go inbetween them, giving you a more powerful wave, and hopefully they won't wash away. Just for reference, here is a part of the Congaree: www.friendsofcongaree.org/photos/aac.jpg

Great stuff! I really hope you come right. :) If you manage to create something then you'll have to add it to Playak as a spot... B) hehehe. Looking forward to seeing what you can come up with.
Good luck :)
