hi ,
I am looking at upgrading to a new kayak from the one I am presently using ( Dagger Animas ) this boat has been quite forgiving and quite big to paddle,But I amlooking to get more performance from my kayaking :)

As I am comfortable in paddling grade 3 and above rivers, I have paddled the Ovens, King and The Mitta Rivers many times in various levels . I am also likely to use this new boat in the surf as well....

I would like advice or information from anyone who has any suggestions for me as I am very eager to upgrade and get on the river/surf ASAP. I have no brand preference just a biat that can do mor than just go down the river and eddy hop and do front /side surfing and the occaisonal flat spin..
Sorrry if this seems lame but I am paddling a boat that seems too big for me, But I am weigh only 65 kgs, am 5'7 tall and have size 8.5/9 feet.

Any advice/information that peopel can give would be much appreciated :cheer:

kind regards

Sam

You might want to look for a 2000-2003 model playboat. Something like the Pyranha Sub 7, Dagger Showdown, Pyranha Stretch, or a Necky Mission should suit your needs well. The whole advantage of a slightly longer playboat is more speed and better surfing in many cases. However, they are going to be tougher to learn to loop but might be easier to cartwheel compared to today's boats with lower volume ends. Dagger is also replacing the RPM with the Axiom, so that would be another good option if you don't anticipate playboating in the near future.
