they are basically revamping the star awards to bring in newer more relavant techniques due to the new designs in boats and what is now possibe to achieve in them and getting rid of some of the older silly strokes which have been proved to do more of an injury than save you! Hopefully you have allready noticed the change from "slaps fpr support" and the more useful low and high brace using safety boxes etc! This has also stopped more shoulders from popping out!

Your best bet is to join the coaching ladder by doing a Level 2 training course definately worth it and then you will get BCU coach development mag aswell CoDe with all the latest info

A level one is quite easy. All you need for a Level 1 are a Canoe Safety Test, First Aid certificate (4 Hours) and 2*. It goes like this until Level 3 where you need a 8 Hours First aid certificate.

Get them before 2007 because from what i know insterad of a one day course (level 1) you need a 50 hour course.

This is were im getting confsued, when going on the 50 hour course would that include you getting the UKCC?
