Well that happens to be a blaze orange wool hunting hat under my helmet.

It seemed to be a very sensible thing at the time, so that I could be seen at all times by my uproariously inebriated friends, till that is I put on my helmet.

Ethanol has its ways...

Don't want to sound like your mother, but make sure it can't fall down over your eyes. A mate of mine almost drowned in a very bad pourover. He had a beanie under his helmet and got badly worked. The beanie fell over his eyes and he couldn't see the throw bag they were trying to give him. Eventually he blacked out (while it held him as a swimmer!) and another guy live bait rescued him by pushing him right down so he would flush, long story. He was bloody lucky not to die or to breathe in any water... :unsure:
