Max inseam is 32 inches, so you should be fine. One of the guys at the roll clinic I was at was approx. 5' 10" and fit in the 2Fun, but I at 5'8" could not (ingrown nails). The cockpit is a few inches smaller than normal lengthwise, but 19" wide. Here is their site: jacksonkayak.com/kayaks/product.cfm?product=starseries

The Fun is a river-running playboat, and the Star is a full-on playboat. You could get a shooting star, but you may be too big for it. They are both 5'9", but the Star will hold a larger person better, and is more ideal for playboating.

If you are buying it new, you might want to consider getting a local shop to order it so you can sit in it before you buy. Even if it's a long drive to the shop, it would be worth it.

For sure. If you can't demo the boat, AT LEAST sit in it.... :)

Definitely sit in it, at a bare minimum. I think that the Jackson thigh braces are way too wide, compared to just about every other boat I've paddled (LL Remix 59 and Li'l Joe, Pyranha Burn S and Sub 7 2-ball, Dagger RPM, Fluid Solo S as long as you keep your thighs against the braces (Improves posture!), JK Punk Rocker is the only Jackson that was comfortable). I was initially planning on getting the Hero, but even with my thighs against the braces, I could feel the back of my thigh pulling. I prefer to have my thighs more vertical than spread out, but it's all personal preference.
