Press Release: KayakPro Launches Virtua-Race Interactive Paddling

I'm very disappointed in the quality of this product. I had it for just a few weeks, and the washers holding the seat down worked their way through the seat, I've had to create a custom bracket to hold it in place. It may have something to do with being manufactured in China and lax quality control.

I really cannot understand how this can be true. I've bought my speedstroke just a month ago. The quality is excellent. And there are no "washers holding the seat down". So there is no way that they could have worked their way through the seat. I am afraid that Jack_S is talking about a different company.

Anyway my personal opinion is the exact opposite. Quality is great. Service is great too. i bought mine over the internet. All my questions were answered the same day. The product arrived on time. Papework was fine too.

I have been using the ergometer 3-4 times per week since I bought it. I had an accident early on September, dislocating my shoulder while whitewater kayaking. Working out on the speedstroke helped me regain my strength fast, and I am now back on the water. Just got back from a 3 day whitewater kayaking on the Greek mountains. Without the speedstroke I woulld probably mish this paddling season.

I am glad that Virtua-Race is now available. This is one of the reasons I've chosen the speedstroke. I am sure this will help me keep on using my new ergometer once, as expected, I start getting board paddling at home.

It's Gray here form KAYAKPRO, I too was somewhat surprised to see your posting.
Speedstrke GYM doesn't use washers to fix the seat but does have a one year warentee an all parts.
I have looked in our data base and cannot find you as a customer- we are happy to help, in any way we can.

We have found that the quality of oversees manufacture has actually been far higher than in manufacturing in the US. Unfortunately just a cold reality.

That thing looks the business! I'm sure many people would be able to make use of something like that in the winter months... Looks like a great design. Too bad I won't be needing one as it's year round paddling in good old Cape Town, RSA..... yeah!
