Here's a custom seat for a DR Critical Mass/Mafia: link . It's the 2nd row of pictures. There's also another that I've seen, but I can't remember the link.

That particular mod was very easy on the Thruster because of the room between the seat and side of the boat. The ratchet with stopper (standard with IR backbands) just fit back there.
The Fish takes a slightly different approach, depending on which seat you have.
So, tell me which seat you have and I can tell you the ways that it will take a retro fit IR back band (applies to most other backbands too)

I've got the standard fish backrest on a elite seat. www.dragorossi.com/elite.html

There are two approches I have seen with that seat.

1. remove the old backband entirely. (one side is rivetted by the ratchet straps, the other should have a screw. remove the screw side and thread the whole thing back through the backband slots in the seat)
unscrew the stoppers on the IR ratchet bands, and attach them to the extender straps
attach the extender straps to the ratchet bands
push the ratchet and attached extender strap through the backband slot so the ratchet sticks out the back of the seat
attach backband to the ratchets on either side
drill two holes in the cockpit rim (note: put something under there so you don't punch through another layer. you ONLY drill the first little lip, the part that will be under your skirt). this is to thread the included bungees that will hold up the backband

2. cut the backband's main band in half (the part that actually attaches to the ratchet straps)and remove the gel pad
take the straps out of the ratchets so the backband strap can move freely
you have to drill holes in the strap (in the back) to attach the IR ratchets that will connect to the backband
this gives you adjustable ratchets in the traditional Dragorossi spot, as well as ratchet adjustments on the new backband
very adjustable, but takes a bit of engineering and courage.

Hope that helps. Post if you have any more questions.
