Well, I am the proud owner of a new(used) Pyranha Rev, and wow this is a fun boat. All that aside, I didn't like the outfitting that the previous owner had put in. They had used the self adhesive foam that Pyranha ships with their foam kits, and something didn't work out quite right. The pads were hanging down and flopping around all over the boat, so I "carefully" pulled all of the foam padding out. Now, nothing I hate more is to see all that extra glue, foam chunks and that weird fiberglass looking stuff that Pyranha uses on the back of their adhesive foam. So I started cleaning all that stuff out with my left over Cotol 240, and WOW does that stuff work! My only problem is that I probably don't have enough to clean the whole boat out. It only takes about 2 or so drops to clean a 6" circle, but this boat is covered in that stringy adhesive stuff. Do you guys think that paint thinner would work just as well? Would it eat a hole in my boat? We used to use Acetone when I worked at Perception to clean the boats and shine them up at the factory. I think we used paint thinner too, but the last thing I want to do is wake up the next day with a hole through my boat. Thanks everybody! Happy boating!

I used white spirit (paint remover) to get rid of the glue and stringy stuff that self adhesive foam leaves behind on my first boat the inazone and its still going strong to this day. If your worried about it dissolving the boat try a small bit of the stuff on the cockpit rim or something and that'll put your mind to rest(hopefully).

furniture polish works to remove left over glue that stickers leave so it should work for that. also soapy water and a stiff brush would wrk aswell.

I ended up having enough Cotol 240 to clean it all up. I did run into a problem with the Cotol leaving an invisible sticky layer on the inside of the boat, ripping my leg hairs out. The fix to that was to lightly clean the inside with the paint thinner. The Cotol made cleaning out the foam easier than anything else I tried, I even attempted using a little paint thinner to clean the ugly stuff. I gave up after a few seconds and switched back to the Cotol. 2 or 3 drops will really clean up about a 6" circle, or more once you get used to it. Thanks for your advice guys, and the paint thinner didn't dissolve my boat. :)
