Hey,
I have been a Playboater for some time now, but I always had problems with sitting in my Playboats longer than fifteen minutes. My legs don't fall asleep, but they start to hurt in the area between my a** and my knees. I am 180cm in size and currently paddling a Jackson All Star (I had the same problems with my older boats such as: LL Big Wheel, WS Project 52 etc.). Any solutions for this problem? I don't think my body or my legs are too large for the boats, could it just be a matter of the wrong sitting position?
best wishes
chris

I have had the same problem, which seems to be because of the thigh braces being too far to the side. However, it seems like the Liquid Logics, Wave Sports, some Pyranhas don't have the same problem for me. My Fluid Solo causes some, but very little discomfort, and when I was looking at the JK Hero, I pulled a muscle just sitting in it. You could make the thigh brace hit your leg closer to your knee, and your sitting position would have your legs more straightened, which might fix it.

You could try to raise your seating position and tilt your pelvis forward (put about 0,5-1cm at the back off your seatpod), this will unload your ischiatic nerve and extend your lumbal spine. Sounds like a nerve-tissue issue to me...... Have fun! ;) Check your hippads as well...

I had a similiar problem and tried different seats, boats etc. It finally dawned on me that everytime I got in the boat I tensed up my legs and lower torso. I tried forcing myself to relax and the pain stopped.

For me, it's the complete opposite; if I let my legs relax, my thigh muscle gets pinched, but if my thighs are right against the thigh braces, then I am fine. It does promote good posture though :) .

Is it muscle-hurt or nerve-hurt? There's a big difference. If it's muscle hurt, then try doing hamstring strengthening exercises. Playing really uses the hamstrings quite a bit. Also concentrate on using the core a bit more to unload some of the pressure from those working muscles. If it's nerve-hurt, then adjusting the seat/tilt of the pelivs, etc. will help.
