I'm sure at this stage many people have seen the new Sweet Wanderer helmet from Sweet Protection. For those who haven't heres the hype:

The Wanderer has you covered in style on your local play run, as well as when it get steep and technical. Made in high impact resistant injection molded ABS, with carbon fiber reinforced areas and direct venting for optimal ventilation and drainage, this baby will prove a winner. The new occi-grip system features a gradual tensioning system with super-soft foam that hugs your head to ensure the best possible fit. The Wanderer is a super value full performance helmet. Everything in life should be this simple. Note: earpads must be purchased separately.

Materials:
High Impact ABS Shell. Carbon Fiber Composite reinforced critical areas. EPP Padding.

Weight:
500g

Certification:
EN 1385 - Helmet for canoeing and watersports ( ICF Class I-IV)

Undoubtedly it will be another sound piece of equipment from SWEET, but am I the only one that thinks this helmet is actually one ugly piece of kit? Sure it does the job and from what i've seen is cheaper than the ever popular strutter, but I don't really want that thing sitting on my head. They tried to bring together the strutter and the rocker and in my opinion, made a hames of it. I personally think it may have been the peak. Remove that and its like a protec except nicer.

What are everyone elses opinions on this? I've put a picture with this for those who haven't seen it yet so hopefully it worked!!

It seems to be a similar style to the Trooper and Rambler, but with a slightly longer visor/bill than the standard. I still like the Rocker LS halfcut more than any of the other styles, but it is discontinued. My next helmet would/will probably be a full-face helmet though, either the WRSI Current w/FPS or the SR Standard Full-Face. If I could find a Sweet Rocker for under $125, I will probably get it though, since I am using a SR Super Scrappy, which is plastic and I really like the design of the H.O.T. lock system more than the H.O.G. lock, since I already broke 1 HOG lock system. SR's customer service is great though, and I got around 6 pieces to mess around with, and I got it fixed fine.

The Sweet logo is way too big, which I don't like much. I don't mind the little art designs, but the "S" seems to cover half of the helmet. Also, why would they use a pink chin strap on an olive green helmet? I could kind of understand it on the white, but not on an olive helmet.

Well actually the colours would be one of the only thing i like about the helmet. I like the pink strap with the olive helmet. I think its probably to introduce more feminine colours into their range because i know of a few people including myself who had emailed sweet looking for girly helmets.

Yeah the colour schemes they seem to have got spot on. I would love a strutter in the colour helmet shown above. Its feminine but not in your face full on girly helmet!

Here's the Pro-Tec Wake . I think that part of the reason that it looks bad is because th bill looks like an afterthought, since there is a break in the material. The Rockers without a visor are similar in design, but the bill slopes slightly down, blending in with the rest of the helmet. The addition of the vents is nice though.

After looking at the Rockers, it doesn't look like there will be a visor attachment, which would help cover up the weird bill design.

Yeah the peak is just weird. I think maybe if it was even a little bit longer it would balance out with the rest of the helmet. Now it does just look like an afterthought and something that was just plonked there and is out of proportion.

I agree its ugly. Like you sd. its a shell with a beak/visor thrown on. That's what you get when you use existing molds and add pieces. They really need a new mold, so they can make it all in one piece and since they are making a new mold maybe they could reduce some of the volume and change shape so its not so bowl like, but then it would no longer be an inexpensive helmet. It also looks like it replaced the halfcut Rocker in their product line...I prefer half-cut helmets, but I don't think that I would ever wear the Wanderer, unless I was given it free and paid/sponsored, which will probably never happen. Hopefully, I can find an old Rocker Halfcut on clearance :) .

Did Sweet ever make a Rocker LS Fullface? I like the design, but can't find one with the dragon print on a fullface helmet, and they have been discontinued, which should make them cheaper.
