Ok, so im currently doing a Certificate in Outdoor Recreation. Weve just done our practical kayak paper (the best paper so far ;)) and now we have to cover the theory side of it. One of the tasks asks us to 'describe the main components (at least 3) of an effective sweep roll.'

This isnt much of a problem for me, as i can confidently perform a sweep roll 9 times out of 10 on either side. The problem however is finding diagrams or images of a step by step sweep roll: The setup, the sweep, the hip-snap and the finish. Ive found images of a step by step eskimo roll, and from descriptions ive read they seem to be the same.

My questions for you are; Are they the same thing? And does anyone have some step by step images i could use as reference points?
Any help will be much appreciated, and mentioned in the reference list at the end, and playak.com will also feature a mention.

Cheers all,
Matt
