riverdoggy Topic Author Offline Junior Member Posts: 19 Thank you received: 0	does any one esle ever feel like they need rain why is it we always get drizzle never real rain that can push the rivers up its not fair the surfs crap and the rivers are low so my alternatives are looking at shinny new kit that i cant use cos theres no rain hufff do other people all over the world have this problem with the wrong kinda rain

We had loads of rain and snow melt last weekend, and went out paddeling some creeks. The results made me remember that after a few months of winter and no paddeling, it is wise to start in the easy stuff. And I got to practice my rescue skills, it´s amazing how I always manage to hit my target in the time of need, but never when I practice.

So when it starts raining just remember to take it easy while you are geting back into shape... it took me about 10 mins to get into my creekboat, and I thought I was in such a good shape :ask:

Paddled Deepdale Gorge on the Umkomaas River in South Africa on thur/fri, (2 day, 35km paddle) Rained all night too and we had no tents! Not pleasant. Paddled Umkomaas again on sat,sun (2 day, 38km paddle). Rained some more. This time with tents though Water was pumping the following day. Rained today again! All proper thunder, lightning thumping rain. Very cool....
