Kayak for a Big Guy? 15 years 11 months ago #26216

I'm new to kayaking and am looking for more of a River Runner, I think. I want to run white water, and still be able to to take my boat down the calm rivers just to relax. I am 5' 10" and 285lbs, and I was looking for suggestions on what boats I should be looking for.

What rivers in particular? If not past class III, go with the Pyranha Fusion or Liquid Logic Remix XP10. The only difference other than brand and basic outfitting is that the Remix XP has foot pegs, and the Fusion has a foam footblock more common to whitewater boats. Also, the Fusion's skeg drops lower than the Remix, which you can see in the pictures.

I'm really not sure about the rivers yet but it would not be past class lll. Thanks for the help.
