We have just bought a Nomad 8.1 and started outfitting it tonight, be we cannot work out what some of the foam that is supplied is for. The stuff in question is reasonably large, flat and has some sort of adhesive on one side, covered by white paper.

If you have trouble working out what i am talking about i will try and post pictures later, but it is reasonably distinctive so nomad owner's might know.

I think it's for padding where your knees or thighs rest against the boat, i got the same stuff with my gforce.

Congrats on the new boat. That foam is for the bulkhead. But I suggest that you make a bigger bulkhead if you plan on doing some creeking. 1" of foam will not protect you from much of a piton. Here is my bulkhead in my nomad

Is your bulkhead system easy to move up and down? me and my sister share a boat, (she uses it when we paddle class 2-3, and i use it in class 4) so it is important that the footrests are easy to move.

yeah its easy to move. I just have the two blocks on either side sorta sitting there not glued in. This way i can move it from my nomad to my Green boat. It's big enough that it just stays in place. Get a 4" piece of minicell and cut holes in it so it compresses better.
