i prefer the shape of the hull of the karnalli better then the burn because the edge are softer

wath does it look like the hull of the everest ? look like there's some rails ?

wath the difference between the two except 3'' and 2 galons

the dealer doesn't have the everest in stock

I had a look at both today. I liked the plastic better in the Karnalli and don't know why they would put different plastic in similar boats (have heard concerns about the durability of the Everest, but have not heard of any actual issues). I particularly liked the rounder edges and blunter ends on the Karnalli. I liked the bigger cockpit on the Everest and greater volume. I would lean towards the Karnalli, but personally need it in an extra-large.

i run the neilson monday, 45 class IV rapids and one rV, my first class iV descent with water of 2009, i didn't flip and mist just one line. The karnalli Large is a very stable boat, got a lot of speed and keep it line

Hi Jimb,

I'm thinking of renting the Karnali for a multi day and saw that you've had some experience with it. It looks like there's a good bit of storage space, which is one of my concerns, but I'm also worried about big water handling. Would you say it's more of a creeker or a river runner? I'd be taking down some smaller falls and probably some rapids up to 4, but not past - and not creeky at all really. What I'm really concerned about is how it handles in bigger water, and if it can keep some good speed on slower sections (have to keep up with some ww canoes).

Thanks in advance.

i did 5 descents with my karnalli, 3 in low water, 1 in big water, 1 medium water. the last two descent was in a river with 45 class IV rapids and 1 class V rapids, the boat is very fast you'll be able to keep up with the canoe. it handle very well for me in the big water i never flip upside down with the boat it's very stable and it's rounded edge are more creeky oriented then river runner

Thanks jimb,

Glad to hear you liked it. I think it'll be great for the trip I'm taking it on.

Were any of your descents multi-day? I.e. how did you feel about the storage?

I have an Everest and have not tried the Karnali.

The edges on the Everest have been lifted higher up than on the Burn series, other than that the Everest has a touch more length and more volume in the bow and quite a bit more in the stern.

I have used mine of some decent class 4 creeks and rapids with drops and long continuous sections....I LOVE it!!! One of the best boats I have ever paddled. It is stable, fast and turns easily for its size, especially when driven on its edge, as it should be! And its big!!! which i like! Did I say its fast....

However the plastic does seem a bit soft for a boat designed for creeks and hard use. Mine is developing a bit of a 'pregnant belly' under my seat (because I am a fat bastard??).

I like the edge and am not interested in edgeless round boats which I feel only really excel if you run super-steep lower volume class 5, which I dont (eg the Jefe which many guys like and many hate because of its banana like shape).

The Karnali does look great too though. Perhaps look at a Solo and Magnum. The Solo is awesome but I would ideally like it to have a few more gallons of volume for my height and weight (perhaps we will see an XL in the future?). It also just won a boat of the year award in France and deservedly I might add. The Solo also has hands-down the best safety/step-out and rigidity system going, by a LONG way.

My favourite creekers/runners are the 3 Pyrnanhas (burn/everest/karnali) and the solo.....
