Alright, I'm 5'11'' and weigh 200 lbs, i know what you might be thinking. Fat person? In all honesty, I am not a large person at all. So my problem is : I'm not exactly sure what size kayak to get. Example: I'm looking into the Dagger Kingpin, Sizes include 6.1 which are for people who don't weigh much at all around 100 lbs, 6.2 are for people who weigh about 100-180 lbs and the 6.3 is for 150-230. I was thinking the 6.2 only because i do not have a large waist and i want to fit comfortably in the kayak. What would you suggest, other than losing weight, haha. Go with the larger kayak for heavier weight, or go with a medium size kayak based on my actual size?

Hi Sovern.
It depends on what you want to do. Seeing as you are looking at the kingpin (playboat) the choice of being under or over the limit has 2 seperate outcomes.
Being over the recomended weight means that you will find it easy/ier to get your ends under the water, so this will makje certain hole moves easier. BUT you will get flushed more because you will be in more constant contact with the outflow of the hydraulic that you are playing on. Flatwater moves will be easi-ish.
Being under the recommended weight means that your kayak will be floating on the water in the way that it was designed to.
Sitting the kayak too low in the water means that you will be pushed/influenced by the current much more than in a kayak that you are under the recomended max weight.
Either way the more time you spend in a kayak the better you get.

If they are in your area, try the Fluid Nemesis Medium or Large.

Thanks for the advice, i think i better stick with the larger kayak for now. Unfortunetly, Fluids, although very nice, are out of my price range at the moment.

i'm 6'2" 190# and i paddle a pyranha recoil large, it's a river play kayak, i prefer to use a river play because it's more confortable and got more speed and river running ability then a playboat. i live in quebec city and we don't have much playspot and nice wave so a riverplay is the best secondary boat after a creeker

Yea, I'm actually looking into a Pyranha Burn S now. I gave it some thought and decided I didn't want to buy just a playboat since there aren't many play spots near me. Instead there are a good amount of running spots and boof-spots. Thanks for your help though. I just can't pass up on such a good deal.
