You would probably have to pay import taxes, and it just wouldn't be worth it. Just ask Adrian about buying expensive items from the States (Rogue drytop).

How much does the Biscuit retail in the UK? I bet that if you could figure out what the dealers pay for the boat (unlikely, but possible), you could use that to try to get the price down. Based on the economy (at least over here), I am sure that they would sell it for a small profit, since when people have less money, they aren't going to buy new kayaks.

For importing you will need the items commodity code, the cost will be

Item cost + comodity code % + shipping and then + vat to that total. honestly it will not be worth the agro, you will also have handling fees on top.

Best bet, go to the states buy one, use it, bring it back second hand.

Fully agreed. :) Don't do it. Go to your local dealer and get a boat. We don't get great gear in South Africa so importing is the way for some of us... But it's an expensive path to follow!!!! At least we get cool boats and these days Werner paddles so that's sweet!

Dude you will have to pay shipping $200 by air, plus then as soon as it arrives you will need to pay duty plus the paper work fees import tax VAT another £200.00 before they will release your kayak. This will push your price probably above the rrp in the uk.

By bye passing any uk shop you will have no come back or warrenty. unless of course the boat your after is not available in the uk I have imported a boat btw a sexy 7ft squirt angst squirt

hope this helps
