thigh braces for blackwater 10.5???? 15 years 8 months ago #27460

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask as im new to this site but, does anyone know if thigh braces can be added to the slightly older style dagger blackwater 10.5?
originaly made without, but now produced with braces, is this the sort of thing that could be added aftermarket?

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

hi chris

Your in the right place. lol there dosent seem to be any after market thigh braces on the dagger website. so perhaps not. A quick email to dagger in the UK would probably get you a firm answer though.

Personally id just make some myself. Just get some foam, a knife(use with the supervision of a responsible adult) lol   and some strong adhesive and start gluing stuff together. Art attack time!

That leads to another post im about to make in the general forum.

have fun and dont glue your hands together or you'll never be able to paddle it. :) :)

They do have knee pads you can buy. It will probably be under the name Harmony or Wilderness Systems (under same company as Dagger). Not thigh braces, but I don't think that the Blackwater comes with thigh braces anyways. www.harmonygear.com/product/203816/KNEEP...g%20Knee%20Pad%20Kit

Not sure if you can get it in the UK though. The Dagger Europe site shows them with thigh braces, but the Dagger main site shows them with knee pads like the above link. Finding a broken boat would be your best bet, but your boat doesn't have a spot to hold the thigh braces on.

Those knee pads are useless. That is what came on my Pamlico 100. I gotta go with Matt on this, just sit in it and let your imagination run on how the thigh braces need to go in the boat. Then look around at what you can buy aftermarket to see what you can modify to work in your boat and go from there. Good luck and keep me posted:laugh:
