Basicly i dont use double pump, but i get up vertical stick my paddles out to make a triangle lean slightly forwards to hold myself there but when im up there i just fall flat on my face after about 30 seconds which is annoying and i dont know why :huh:

make sure paddle is a little bit under water, that way you can push down and pull up, depending on whether you want to get more or less vertical.

When you stand up on your feet, you fall on your face. Simple as that... :laugh: 30 seconds is decent. Sounds like you've got it mostly waxed. Keep at it!

when i was learning the bow stall i had the same problem, you need to really work on your balance in order to be any good at it, i used a lot of karate moves to help me out with that, the triangle with the paddle blade is the key to this tho, try keeping your arms as straight as possible when ur vertical, also use your knees to control the positioning of the kayak and pretty soon you will be able to hold the stall for as long as your want to
