BC expeditions 15 years 7 months ago #27782

I've been fortunate enough in the last 2 weeks to have had the chance to paddle with some great friends on 2 rivers that very few people in the paddling world seem to know about. The first being the Gilttoyees which flows into the Douglas Channel approx. an hour from Kitimat by jet boat (a little past Jesse Falls). This river has only been kayaked twice so far and has to stand out as one of the most stunning valleys in BC ... with grade 5 kayaking (drops about 1000 feet in 9 km - total trip is 23km).
The other is the Upper Clore river (also refered to some friends as the Grand Canyon of the Clore) ... an approx. 11 km stretch of continuous grade 4+/5 whitewater that doesn't let up. This has been paddled 3 times now (Corey Boux, Scott Feindel, Mark Basso among others) and I'm sure will be many times in the future (cheap fly-in).

Here's a few pics
