Taking a Kayak to Brazil 15 years 7 months ago #27865

Hello!

My name is Andre and I just got a Wavesport Fuse 48. I am trying to take it with me back to Brazil but the damn airline is giving me trouble....they don't allow any kayaks. It is stupid because the kayak falls under the size limit for other things such as surfboards and golf clubs.

I've been told to just say it is a surfboard and they will check it for me. I was wondering if anyone else here had to go through this and how exactly did you get your kayak to pass for a surfboard?

I've been trying to find Longboard bags but I don't know what will fit. Longboard coffin bags (bags that fit multiple surfboards) seem like they would work but they are so expensive! Has anyone had any luck with relatively inexpensive longboard bags and could recommend one? or is there a way to do it without longboard bag? I'm already going to have to pay the 100 dollar charge of checking it in so I am looking for an inexpensive way to do it.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Here is a picture of what awaits....
