Deck 15 years 6 months ago #27971

Just got myself a nice fluid solo and i am in need of a deck for it.

Anyone know what size deck it needs? Keyhole/Big, R4/R5? I know it takes a 1.7 in the seals decks but they are quite pricey.

Also any reccomendations for a deck, dont want to spend too much as i am a poor student and have spent alot of my loan on the boat already, but want the deck to be half decent, some sort of protection over the rim would be good also.

Thanks in advance:)

Hi

 Makes me laugh when i hear what people spend there student loans on. Im kinda glad i never went to uni or id be in real trouble. lol But i think if i did a boat would have been a good choice. Stops you pi**ing it all up the wall i suppose. lol

Back on track. I have a playboater deck that is good, granted its for my playboat which is an XL fit, and its re-inforced, but there is all the deck shapes available. I got it from brookbank in warwickshire, dont know if there is a brookbank near you but there worth checking out. Not to expensive either.

Have fun in your new toy.

Being from england I would say go for the Peak Uk Freeride. Size keyhole (even if you are in a large fluid kayak) The keyhole is tight to get on so make sure that you wet the deck properly before trying to put it on everytime that you use it. The Peak Uk standard deck is also ok but the price difference is not to big and you will get much more life/pleasure from the Freeride deck. It has a dry lip seal (latex rubber) and protective print ontop for paddle knick etc.
I have been using the freeride deck for at least the last 15months and have no complaints, I paddle about 3-5 days per week.
