Major leg problem 15 years 6 months ago #28094

I know there have been a few posts like this so take it easy on me.
Every time I go on a river trip I get really stiff and painful legs and I also lose the feeling in my feet. I've tried sterching and jogging on the spot for 10 mins before every trip. Iy gets to such a point that i have to get out every 15 mins.

So if anyone has had this problem or is really kind could they point me in the right direction to a happy river trip:laugh:

Howdy doody

I asked this when i first got a playboat. I know its not nice so try this link.

playak.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&I...w&catid=105&id=27466

In case the link dosent work, go back to the general forum and search 3/4 of the way down for my post called - i cant feel my feet!

It helped me.

Good luck

Matt

No worries. I hope it solves the problem.

The main things that helped me were taking the strain off my cheeks by putting some soft foam on my seat. This helped by releasing the pressure on this nerve that goes to your toes. And putting some foam in the bottom of my boat by my heels so i can push on it instead of my toes been squashed up.

I think the link on the jackson site has been removed. i tried to find it a while ago but no success.

Try typing googleing something about it?

There have been some good comments on the other link (can't feel my feet). I think there was another one even further back. Besides taking pressure off the butt/sciatic nerve/arteries, sometimes it can also have to do with how flexible your groin/hips are.

Something else to consider: it used to happen to me all the time--every time, in fact--with a Liquid Logic boat I was using. So, I decided not to get one and instead bought a Jackson--no problems at all! So, sometimes, it's not your body--it's the position a specific boat is putting your body in. May be time for a different boat. Or yoga. ;) I think yoga's cheaper.

I think buying a new boat is out of the question (no job=no money) so i may startdoing groinal exercises:lol:

thanks so much for these tips, they contribute to a happier time on the river
