Really good day out here on the Indian River in Florida. Was COLD this morning--40 degrees when I woke up--50 degrees by the time I hit the water. Had to decide between dry suit and wet suit for cryin out loud! About 15 knots from the north gusting to 20. Paddled dead into it in my Remix XP9 (figured with the cold and wind slop it would be the choice and it worked out really well). Drove about 7 miles into the wind and then spent the rest of the day riding the wind-driven wave trains all the way back. Was so fun!
I dunno. Maybe nobody cares. I know we spend a lot of time giving gear advice and all that I just wanted to share good vibes about a paddle. Hot shower and cold Full Moon winter ale and, well, life doesn't get a whole lot better! Hope you guys out there--where ever you are--had a good paddle today too!
Cheers!
