I never really thought about the meaning of this band name (a german boater's band btw) until I remembered an incident I had a couple of years ago: I had been skiing all day. bright sunshine, no sunglasses. In the evening we were invited for some drinks and I asked the lady what it was. She looked at me as if I was retarded and answered: that's orange juice! Then why is it green, I asked. Now she started looking at with with even more suspicion. Anyway, I asked my friends, and the assured me that the drink was definitely orange. To me it looked bright green, even a couple of hours later.

Strange thing was that everything else in the room looked normal.

Have others had this as well? Is that a normal phenomenon after too much sunshine?

And does that explain the band name?

I had something similar happen after being on the snow all day, but everything looked blue. Don't remember looking at something orange specifically. Weird. :dry:

This is quite funny from the man who said he stopped smoking and yet I see him on New Years eve photos, smoking... :laugh: And for the record (check), I never said I'd give up drinking, just 90% less... :P Ok, enough off topic :ohmy:

I asked a friend who is a ken snowboarder and he said he has experienced it aswell. Did some looking and further down this link under "causes" it does mention exposure to UV rays.

Ive never worn glasses on the river before but i may do in the summer now as i didnt realise you can do permanent damage from a couple of hrs exposure.

Nah! who am i kidding, this is the UK. Its never sunny just rainy!

thanks for the link. i am indeed red/green color blind, but that's inherited and only 2nd degree, so orange normally looks like orange, red like red, and green like green (it's just difficult to distinguish them once they are mixed). the next morning orange juice looked like orange juice again - it's was a very temporary thing...

so, does anybody know if the band name has anything to do with this?

cant help with the band name im afraid.

My German is absolutely atrocious and there is no English translation.
