right, I know this forum gets a lot of these being a member for a while but i recently come into some money and at long last im gunna buy a brand new playboat! the boats i had in mind were the molan the biscuit, and allstar. i have paddled the other new boats namely the nemisis, RAD, smoothy, project. all those are out of the question as i have freekishly long legs.
im 6'2" or 188cm. 80kg/176lbs with a 34(maybe 36") inseem. size 10 UK feet.

im sure i can sit in the boats, question is i usually have to crank the seat back making the boat off balance. I will definatly take my time choosing and will demo them all but wanted to know if anyone can point me in the right direction? you might have some info on them that others dont. eg adrian might know more about fluids.

bigger knee recesses?
foot space?
etc.

any info would be appreciated.

also im in austrailia at the mo so wont be demoing for another 2months! but would like to info to do research in the mean time.

i havnt kayaked in half a year! iv got kayak withdrawl. 2010 will be a good year!

thanks a lot guys!

Hey there.

I'm 6"2 and 85kg. I was recently shopping around for a new playboat as well. I love the biscuit, but as with other LL boats I have tried I find that I can cram myself into them but after 10 minutes I can't feel my legs. I didn't really look at the Molan as I'm sure I won't fit comfortably.

The Jackson website tells me that I should be able to fit into the All-star (inside leg about 34'), but I don't know how. In the end I bought the Superstar - its comfortable enough to paddle all day, and even with its big volume its small enough to have fun on flat water (I know i'm a bit heavier than you). I always have to move the seats right back in smaller boats - with the superstar I got the boat nicely balanced with a couple of inches to spare.

I'm a bit of a jackson sellout now, so i'd say get the Jackson - especially if you can get the elite (the happy feet and sweet cheaks are awesome)

Happy shopping/ paddling!

Hi,

Molan definetly has more room for feet than Nemesis.
Knee position is more comfortable also.
(I am 6'/ 183cm, 176lbs / 80kg, 34" inseam, size 8 UK feet.)

I moved seat forward in Molan otherwise stern was too catchy and still can get in with booties and feel good (in Nemesis only with thin soft shoes). For moment I don't have any foam block in the bow, but in summer with soft shoes probably will put something in.

With winter gear you ar quite close to upper weight limit of Molan (90 kg)
(Nemesis - 95 kg) but for playboat it's OK.
All in all I like this boat a lot and it's real fun to paddle it. :)

So, if leg/feet size is problem, Molan could be worth checking.

Cheers!

seen the specs for the molan, jacskon and the biscuit. noticed the biscuit is 6'2" and the other two are about 5'9"ish. im assuming the first two have more raised knee recesses. i have sat in the allstar and fitted but might have been right at the back, i cant remember. the biscuit is also a completely different design. with the length im inclined to think the biscuit would be better balanced but i paddle LL mainly and have a big problem with their size. (i have to take the foot rests out of a lil joe to fit in.) i have the foot rests all the way back on a hefe. so that would lead me to beleave the other two might be better. i can take them all out but i am notorious for buying boats on impulse so i really want all the info i can get and demo them all long and hard on all types of water. as for price the molan is very appealing being almost £300 cheaper than the allstar. but i would rather get the perfect boat and spend a little bit more.

they should really make a boat for rediculously long legged people who dont weigh 100kg+

cheers for the info guys.

anymore info on my predicament would be great.
