Plastic welding shouldn't be too expensive, but you could try a homemade job. We had a boat crack once on a trip that was very remote. Heated up a screw driver with a stove and used to it smear the plastic together. It lasted well. Often people will take a knife and cut a very small strip of plastic from the cockpit rim for filler material. Should work well if you do it properly. But if you're not naturally handy with your hands, then ask a mate to do it for you. Hope this helps.

I had two Big EZ's break on the seat bolts, it was caused by the seat 'hanging' down on the cockpit rim. So sort that out once you've fixed your problem. More than likely you'll need to add a spacer underneath the part between the seat and the cockpit inside the boat. But I don't know how the LL boats are set out.

Good luck, maybe someone else has some better advice. :)

sounds like good idea to me have stripped it out now and cleaned up the damage and built myself some washers for bolts on both sides to spread out weight. Also went and bought a prijon plastic repair stick and got my hot air gun out. Bit of advice to anyone who uses one of these sticks dont try and use them in a glue gun they will break it! Seems to be done not neatist job in world but did best i could from inside and outside for strength i hope and drilled hole at either end of the crack and filled that to try and stop it spreading and reoccuring. Just hope this works and like to know if anyone thinks it will or wont or better surgestions for bad situation
