Just started paddling again after a 15 year absence....I used to own a dagger freefall then and now i'm looking for a new kayak and cant decide as there are to many.

I fancy learning to play more, surf etc rather than do grade 3,4 rivers and was looking at the Fluid Nemesis or dagger Kingpin 6.2 / 6.3

Which would you consider as being the most forgiving and better choice i am 5" 8" and 85kg and not that experienced at the old park and play....lol (There is still life in the old dog yet...lol)

Which would be better at river running as well as i would still continue doing grade 3/4 rivers and i cant afford another kayak at the moment such as a dedicated creeker. :( shame :( cos now my 3 kids are learning to kayak and they want a kayak as well.....help....lol

Or would anyone recommend an alternative that might be more suitable????

Cheers All

Hallo.
Both those are rather edgy. If you are really looking for something foriving and that you can play with then the only way to go is the Fluid Spice medium. For your weight and hight you will do very well in the spice. If you are playing on surfy features then keep your seat in the centre setting, if you are playing in hole type features the move the seat 1 notch forward and you will get the nose down very easily for things like cartwheels and splits.
You will be able to learn almost all play moves in this kayak and it is a lot more forgiving than a full on playboat like the Nemesis or kingpin. Loops etc are also easy in the spice, just some of the combo moves don't come that easily as the boat rotates slower than a shorter playboat like the Nemesis for moves like phonix monkeys, they are possible though.

If you really are looking for a playboat then I sould say the Nemesis is the way to go. I paddle a medium and use it for the majority of everything I paddle.

The nemesis is the newer boat. so a better design issues related to the kingpin, but with the good-old Kingpin you can't go wrong. Good value for money. I can't say goodby to my kingpin and still like to paddle it after the day it was introduced :)
