throw bags 19 years 1 month ago #4999

Hi all,
Am wanting to invest in a throw bag (finally). Any suggestions? I think I want something that isn't too bulky, I'm thinking a 15m line, and can clip around my waist - am quite happy to sew that on though.

Is there anything I should be looking for/avoiding in a bag and any ideas on brands?

thanks

I like hf www.paddle-people.com/index_en.htm.

try to avoid bags that have more line than the bag can hold and bags that get cought in the bag. try to throw and pack a few and you'll see what feals good. I think there was a similar thread here befor.

spectra line, it floats and is strong enough to actually use in a pig rig for a pin. If you are going for the aroung the waist type there are a few things to watch out for. The throwbag has to easily come out of the belt on your waist, and the belt has to have a good quick release on it. Even with the quick release belt its still a hazard. I used to use a NRS pro kayak bag, but a friend got stuck on a strainer because of it after swimming and didnt think to release it, we got her out, but it was pretty scary. Also, the narrow bags you get on the waist bags are kinda hard to restuff if you have decent size hands.
