I only know of rivers to hit in West Virginia, definetly go for the Gualey and the New. Go here and ttp://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/ This'll help, you can choose what rivers to run by their difficulty and if you have too many to choose from just ask us here if we know what the river is like.

[color=cyan:a8728d4bc2]I don't know what type of paddling you want to do, but if you want to play then consider the White Nile in Uganda. Excellent waves and holes and big volume. Or if you want to include more river running then think about the Zambezi. Your money will go far in these places. You didn't say if you're in the northern or southern hemisphere?? Good luck.[/color:a8728d4bc2]

European Alps French side around Briancon good technical rivers play spots from gade 2 -5/6, Austria Big Volume and technical rivers again every grade good playspots, Slovenia really nice country awsome river sections again every grade cheaper beer 2! Switzerland nice rivers but roads are expensive, if you use their motorways you need to buy a special ticket!

it's obviously difficult to say where it is best, as nearly every country offers some whitewater during some period of the year.

year round, easy access, cheap, bi gvolume, small volume, waterfalls, park n play, expedition rivers and the rest of the hole spectrum i think will be best found in

USA
Himalayas (India, Nepal)
Russia

most of the other countries will lack many possibilities but ehy...you can go and kayak in sri lanka and have a great time with falls, creeks and surf...so in costa rica and..

but overall i think my personal winner has to be the himalayas...

the biggest mountains..means some of the biggest drainages....few dams...means long stretches of rivers to be akyaked...easy access...in india most rivers will have a road access point...airports high in the mountains in nepal and helpers to carry the weight...

rivers are plenty and there are very good rivers in thsi world i haven't been on and are great or in stretches better then maybe anything you can find here but overall i think while kayaking around the world you should give the himalayas a shot...

I am also going to Nepal in november with any luck. It sounds a great place for boating but also like the others said it depends what sort of boating your looking for.

Argentina is a great place to paddle. Rio Manso, Villegas, Corcovado, Azul, Alumine in Patagonia. Rio Diamante, Grande, Mendoza, Tupungato, Tunuyan, Las Vacas in Mendoza. Rio Iruya, Lipeo in Salta. Rio Los Sosa, Pueblo Viejo in Tucuman.

im not wure where you live, but if your summer is Usa' s winter, you should come check out oregon. Nice creeks and a play run that, at flood stage is upposedly world class. Soggy sneakers is the oregon guidebook to rivers so you could maybe check that out. This is a little on the shameless self promotion side, but if you head over to the west coast oregon isnt a bad bet.

"California possesses the largest, most diverse concentration of accessible high quality whitewater in the world". from Holbek/Stanley "Best Whitewater in California".
I've can't compare Cali to anywhere else, but damn, we got it good here!
