Hey guys,
ive done some paddling previously. Looking to get into it hardcore. I'm working on buying my first boat or two. I have a few options. First, I want the boat for use on the Delaware, Scandaga, Hudson, and maybe the Moose someday.

these rivers range from class II-IV+. with my skill level i expect to spend the year on II-III maybe even a little IV (hey, ive got good health insurance and my life insurance makes me worth more dead than alive anyway.)
the Delaware is really my main one and I assume you guys may know it better than I do.

[b:f8a9f56324]Dagger Redline [/b:f8a9f56324](for a good price)- will this boat run the flat water decently without killing me? the Delaware can be really flat in some spots. it is a hard body and makes storage and transport difficult on me w/ where i live but hey that's the breaks, right?

[b:f8a9f56324]Advanced Elements Advanced Frame 2006[/b:f8a9f56324]- this boat claims will handle Class I-III rapids. folding & inflatable hybrid with metal inserts. this is ideal for storage for me. sounds like a good beginner boat meets storage problem.

Any educated input would be appreciated. As well as suggestions on boats from $250-400 (plenty for the first one, IMO).

go for paddling ablilty not storage. you can always buy a rack and move crap around. but this is a guy who cant stand inflatables

I grew up in Indiana but now I live in NY just minutes from NYC. Space is at a premium up here.

Don't buy an inflatable.

Essentially inflatables are poo in comparison with rigid kayaks.

Throw crap away before kayaking in an inflatable. or store it at a clubhouse or somthing or even at the office if your boss likes you!

so what about the redline? or another mulitpurpose kayak?
i know we all love and want whitewater but the fact is some of the rivers around here have flat sections.

id love a rec boat that i could take through class I-IV equally well but i know that isnt really practical. so how about a boat for tame stuff like Class I-II or even III?
and then Class III-V boat?

suggestions
Dagger Redline will do what classes? can i use this for whitewater and then get a rec boat for the tame stuff my friends like to do?

If you get a boat like a redline / method air / inna - zone etc. you can use it for rivers (up to 4+ probably) and as a rec boat with no worries.

if youre going to get a redline your probably going to feel limited in it after about a month, good for its time, but not really up to todays standards, even in river running. id say inflatables arent as fun as hardshell, but hey, thats me. Maybe a slightly newer if your looking for speed on flats or maybe the new rec/riverrunner from dagger, dont know anything about it, but its meant to run some rivers as well as lake. Waht about play, if your interested in playboating that opens up a whole other line of possibilites.

How about a Perception Dancer XT?
and what is a fair price on a used but good condition one?
former boss wants to sell it to me.

see prsonal message. A redline would be a better choice than the dancer series. A fair price would have to be a hundred dollars or less, for me any way.
