depends a bit on the kind of plastic too, especially its surface structure. on certain boats (e.g. prijon), it's extremely difficult and on others (riot, liquid logic) you just put them on and that's it.

what always helps is to use a blow dryer to pre-heat the plastic. not so hot that you could bend it of course, but let's say 'very warm'. then put the sticker on and warm it up a bit more. presto.

yer heating the part your sticking to is a good tip, also try some contact adhesive and heating up after the sticker has been applied.
