Boofing the Sidewalk: Bicycle/Kayak setup 19 years 2 weeks ago #5775

If there are any other desperate peddling/paddling fools who might want to semi replicate this setup I've posted a few notes here:
greenboof.kayakblogs.com/index.php?2006/...-boofin-the-sidewalk

I'd also be curious to hear of others experiences in this game. THere must be a few more folks transporting their boats this way over in Europe where fuel has been a more realistic price to encourage this sort of thing.

I had been using an old kids bicycle trailer last year until it was stolen. It worked very well with part of the frame acting like roof racks. It was top heavy though and I tipped it once while pushing things a bit too hard.

i just throw my allstar on my shoulder, and strap my paddle to the top bar. For bigger boats (like this one) it looks good, i'd make one if i had to carry a boat like that (or bigger, a creeker  ) for sure!

Another option is the xtracycle. Ed Lucero took his kayak from Idaho to New Mexico this way. That's more hard core than his run of Alexandria Falls.

I plan to get one of those units one day soon.
