Out of Retirement- Which boat should i buy? 18 years 11 months ago #5870

I quite paddling back when the Mr Clean was still a hot boat. Getting back into it but boats are drastically different now. I lived on the Watauga Gorge and regularly paddled the Green Narrows in my Clean. Dont think i will get back to that level but still want a playboat oriented ride that i can still take down some steeper IV creeks. I have not demoed anything but have been looking at the LL CR125, Vision 56, Dagger Crazy 88, Project 52, and several others. I will primarily be playboating given where i live now, but i would like to try to get away with only having one boat. I am 6'1 , 175 LBS sz 11 feet.

Any suggestions or comments would be great?

Glad to have you back. The Dagger Perscription, Jackson Fun series, and maybe a Liquid Loigic lil' Joe should do the trick. The Project is a full on play boat. I've heard a lot of good things about it. I guess it's time to demo some boats.

Enjoy

i know someone who creeks class five in a playboat but she just recently broke it dooing that, so id really recomend not using a playboat creeking but if your going to, the ll CR would definitley be the way to go. Never been in one but it looks like it would be a good creeker/playboat.
if you really want full on play, thee visoin series or maybe the jackson star series, the project looks nice too.

i think th edagger g-ride used to be the perfect allrounder (apart form supersteep)...

the new version (forgotthe name though but it;s up on the boatspecs) seems to have the same features and mainly what i like on the dagger is the comfortable sitting plus durability...

most of the playboats out there are having enough volume to give you a lot of fun on any feature (apart from the play only ones) and down the river...

creeks should be a no go in any playboat (even while we sometimes do), as they expose heels, pin easily and will brake after a short time....
