the four twenty was a boat i considered gettin not long ago. :ask:
i loved it, its roomy, fast (for its length), and is effortless when vertical.

the only draw bak for me was the sizing. pyranha have gone with the two size option and not the three this time around, leaving me between the two boats.

the rails can be a little twitchy if ur not used to a livel boat, but other than that its cool. the only other thing would be deciding if u like the pryanha out fitting, but thats personal.

demo.......... u'll like it.

I paddled one, it's like a S6F that cartwheels better, imo. Wasn't too into it or the S6F. Too wide for my taste, huge primary stability and no secondary. Loves to catch edges for me, used to them being higher up on my vision.

hmm the 4twenty seems to be a mixed feeling boat. I fit very comfortably in the S-M boat so would be able to throw it down nicely.

definatly. but ur right, many people either love it, or recomend others. but like any boat it takes time to get used to completly.

when i demo boats, all i look for is a smile, after that all i need to do is get used to it an im away. its all a question of which boat will be most simular to what im used to??

answer that one an u might find another option for the list.

i used a demo 4twenty earlier today i have to say that they havent really changed much from the s:6 although there are differences you will notice, the ends are slicy allowing faster cartwheels and it bounces a little better allowing easier air other than that its the same as the s:6

the ezg is a completly different style of boat, its long and slicy, the 4twenty is short and stubby. I havent paddled one because im inbetween sizes. other boats to try would be the project, rad, the newest style of kingpin, the crazy, fluid flirt. just go and demo demo demo until you find the one you like the best.

4twenty is an awsome boat and if you find it comfy go for and ur in or very close to the recommended weight go for the smaller you wont be disapointed. But if you are not sure try to demo both boats if you can this should push you one way or the other!

i dont know about bliss stick but i must say that i realy dont like pyranha's outfitting. the back band wont saty still and looks flimsey, the foot plate/rest wobbles about and also in the 4 twenty they've cut holes in the seat to save weight but i think it looks like a weak spot. as i say i have no idea about the bliss stick outfitting it could be worse and whats to stop you customising your outfitting and ir backband jackson happy feet would sort out the worst problems

I paddled the 4twenty last week and I must say that I was impressed with it messing around in eddy lines and a couple holes, but not something I would feel comfortable running any big water with. Punching through holes was pretty sketchy.

I'm 5'10\" and 67kg. I paddle a RAD 175; really nice. Very easy to throw about. Being at the upper end of the weight range for it, the bow tends to dive sometimes on waves, but I like it a lot. The outfitting is pretty solid.

I've only tried the larger 4Twenty. I liked the design, but it was far too big for me to really get a feel for it.

Cheers,
Ross
