If you dont want to end up buying a new boat t ake it to white water: the canoe centre(shepperton)

they'll fix it, if you try anything else then you might as well scrap your boat and start over

What a load of gibberish!

I have repaired various cracks and holes in various kayaks and it is really not that hard. depending where the repair is and what your confidence is like you may want to take it to a shop to get it profesionally repared but there are plaenty of people around with plenty of experiance in fixing kayaks.

The normal method consists of drilling small holes at either end of the crack to stop it spreading, heting the side of the crack and folding them down a bit to make a V shaped grove with a split bottom. Now cut some plastic from the inside of your cockpit rim (best match possable for your boat), take a heat source (heat gun, micro blowtorch etc.) and heat up the plastic around the crack (untill it glistens slightly) and melt in the plastic you have taken from your cockpit rim.
