Out of Luck??? 18 years 10 months ago #7295

Hey. I've got a little problem. Maybe I just need to throw some practice at it, but I'm not sure. Here's the deal. I'm about 5'5 and 140 pounds. I've been using my brother's Ace 4.7 for a little while and I'm able to easily double pump it and sometimes bow stall for a few seconds. I finally got my own boat and after some research and bargin hunting I found an '05 Dagger Crazy 88 6.2 . I got in it and it works like a dream, except for one minor thing. I can't double pump it! I get about 2/3 down and it just shoots back up to the surface. So my question is this: Will I be able to double pump/bow stall the Crazy 88, or am I just shit outta luck?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I'd say it's you. I posted a similar question on here a few weeks ago and got the same response: It's you not the boat. After a week of failed double pumps I got frustrated and started to blame the boat. Then someone on here told me it was me and the next day I made my first real end in this boat. It's mental. if you go into the move thinking "i'm not gonna get it" you won't.

For reference I paddled the Crazy 88 6.2 (which I'm way over the limit for at 180lbs) directly after my boat, an Rx 6.9, and it's ends were so easy to put down it was rediculous. The secondary stability wasn't quite what I was used to but once committed the bow would go under no problem.

Thats all true, but don't expect the crazy 88 to be very well balanced (dont expect to get more than one or two ends) its not made for flatwater cartwheels, its made for loops.

Will it be able to do stalls? It might not be the best flatwater cartwheeler, but I'm sure that with enough practice (and I'm willing to put in quite a bit) it will do it.....i hope.

thanks

Yeah you can get some, and if you are lucky you could get more. Im not sure about stalls. The best way to learn is to put some water in your boat, and stall it, and get used to it, then take some out and do it again, and so on until your boat is empty (except for you). Im not sure how long you could hold it like that, but Im sure long enough to floop it.

The floop is the ultimate goal. Thanks for the advice. I much appreciate it.
