Air roll? 18 years 10 months ago #7328

hi, I've been trying someting lately and today was told it was an air roll. To do it I paddle along, doublepump to about 45degrees onto the nose then throw my weight round and under the boat but I can get all the way round. If anyone knows how to do this then could you give me some tips???
Cheers.

dunno what an air roll is, but by your story i'd say you mean a kick flip. i guess you need a back deck roll to finish the move. so if you kick and flip to the right, you do a back deck roll on the left, and there you are, i guess :)

Yu R probably talking about a Dry Roll. Basicaly U don't have to double pump, though it might make it easier or more dinamic. To make it all the way with your head above the water U should go for a back deck roll while bracing/pushing on your paddle harder then usual. At least that's the way it works for me. Keep your arms and shoulders in the power box position - this drill has the potential to put a lot of stress on the active shoulder.
Enjoy!!!

wait, that video is just a backdeck roll, the impression i had is that its the backdeck right after a double pump. What your describing sort of sounds like a bow screw up.
