so is this boat pretty good? Most of the magazine reviews said the Projects were like the best boats tested. Do they perform as well as the hype?

depends what you can do if your job by any means of the word BUY THE BOAT!!!!!!! i wouldnt say its good for beggener play boaters but man this boat is amazing. this is the fastest boat i have ever been in by FAR. (and ive paddled most of the ll, the star, 420, most riots, etc.) the only down side that ive found with it is the boats sweetspot. to get all the bounce and hop out of the boat on a wave you have to edge it a little more than usual but in all honesty its not that bad its just breacking bad habbits for me. its very balanced on ends which im very happy about. its loose slicy when throwing ends im mean honestly i cant find things bad about this boat. i mean becasue of the extra volume its harder to throw cartwheels in flat water but im 135 on the way lighter side and its not that much harder than my 44 gallon boat and because of the very ballanced volume it actualy seems alittle easier in a way. make the easy decesion, demo and buy the boat!!!!!! :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: :roflol: :roflol:

I noticed when i sat in one the plastic flexed alot around the foot area/bow and the thighbraces flexed with the plastic a lot. Are these boats sturdy? Does my dealer have a defect 52 or something? Does anyone have the same problems with flexing in their P 52

There's lots of crummy projects on the market right now, since wavesport moved their production facilities. Some have more flex than others. I still haven't seen 2 of them that look exactly the same. If you're interested in getting one, check that the hull is pretty flat, a lot of them bulge outwards, away from the center rail, almost looking like a semi-planing creekboat hull. If you push on the bottoms of these bulged hulls, on either side of the seat rail, they flex inward really badly. I wouldn't buy one that doesn't have the hull tight against the center rail (when standing on its tail or nose), or has more flex than any other manufacturers boats.

That said, its an awesome playboat, fast and easy to throw around.

i used one this afternoon and well i wont lie to you, i hated it, the bow is way to heavy for its size and cartwheeling isnt clean its way too bouncy and i dont think u can control them all that well, i still prefere my s:6 190 to it any day, before you buy one i suggest trying one first as you will either love it or hate it

I demoed one when i was in the alps and took it down the durance

i would strongly recommend you try it before you buy

i normally paddle a wavesport ace, and loved the project, was also very good at surfing river waves

however, 2 of my mates, who are much better boaters, took it for a spin and hated it, they normally paddle dagger (kingpin, crazy 88)

I have paddled it and have found the boat a little more difficult to roll than say a Necky Misson or EZG 50. This has also been confirmed by a friend of mine who is moving into trying arial tricks. I am not into arial stuff so I just ran the river to see what the boat felt like in a few holes and such. My friend really liked it for arials he was looping off of the smallest stuff.

I should have read all the other posts first then I would not be editing. Wave Sport has had production difficulties, I work for one of their dealers. We have chopped the end of off about 4 boats that were totally unsafe. The last two shipments we have had have been fine structurally though. There has been some damage from transit but nothing you wouldn't do on your first day in the boat.

I know that wavesport was having problems in the oven's with there boats. I have been told that they have worked out the temperature and time issues though. I know that I have seen some other boats that have had problems with the plastic due to oven temps and time. I also know that Wavesport replaced them without a second thought. They looked and said "yep take a new boat." The latest shipments of boats I have seen have looked much better. The factory end of things seems to have come together.
