Mending spraydecks? 18 years 9 months ago #7506

Hi, my spraydeck recently has been slightly ripped and has a small hole in it. Is there any ideas or things that work that you guys know about.

Thanx alot

I use contact adhesive to fix most neoprene repairs. Use a match stick to spread a thin coat of adhesive along both sides of the tear. Leave it to dry for 10mins then press the edges togther hard. Deck fixed! I used to put Aquasure over the repair to make it tougher but now don't bother as it's strong enough on it's own (unless you've ripped a really big hole in your deck).

Aquaseal...

works great! I am sure that your local paddle shop has it.

[color=cyan:b3a20bf4cc]Contact adhesive is amazing stuff. The neck on my windsurfing wetsuit was torn and with just contact adhesive, it is still functioning and super strong. Aquaseal is very good stuff too.

A needle and some thread along with your safety gear can also make an excellent temporary repair on a long trip. Plus it takes up very little space and weight. [/color:b3a20bf4cc]
