Stuart Smith hasn't written a complete guide to BC for as far as I know. He wrote a guide to the Canadian Rockies I believe and he is/was working on a more complete one about BC. But I guess the new Rutherford whitewater park took up most of his time :-) Oh, and watch his gradings...

Betty Pratt wrote a book on BC. Although a little outdated, it's still the best according to most Vancouver paddlers.

Thanks for the help. In your view, who has the most comprehensive guidebook for BC or Canadian Rockies? Having a hard time finding some beta.

I think Betty Pratt is good enough for most of the South-West. Stuart Smith wrote good guides, but you have to take care of his gradings. Also read the UK website: www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/articles.htm

there is some useful info there, also:

paddleguides.com/rivers/bc/

www.kayakwest.com/

or you could email one of the great kayak clubs there: vancouver kayak club or squamish paddlers for example.
